Where the Gunpowder Plotters met to make their plans

St Paul’s Cathedral

This is the old cathedral with a spire, which was burned down in the Great Fire 60 years later

London Bridge

This is the only bridge over the River Thames in 1605. It had houses and churches along it and stone gates at each end

The Globe Theatre

Where William Shakespeare produced his plays such as King Lear and Macbeth

The Tower of London

Where the Plotters were taken after their capture to be tortured and kept until their execution

Hoxton House

Home of Lord Monteagle who was sent a letter warning him not to go the opening of Parliament

Parliament

The plotters placed gunpowder under the hall where Parliament and the King would be gathered on 5th November 1605

 
 
 
 

In the Duck Inn Benji meets some of the plotters. There were thirteen men involved by November 5th.

After the plot was revealed most of the men made their escape from London, but it was not long before they were tracked down.
