Drama and Reading for Meaning

Drama and Reading for Meaning

This exciting new teacher’s resource was written by Larraine Harrison, is being published by Routledge in April and you can now pre-order a copy. Not only is it a great resource for teachers who want to engage their pupils in reading and really understanding text, but it uses Vlad and the Great Fire of London and Vlad and the Florence Nightingale Adventure as examples of texts that encourage this kind of learning experience in KS1. It has been great talking to Larraine about the importance of drama in embedding learning. As a teacher it was amazing to see how children thrived with this type of approach to understanding a book and then using that in their own work.
