After nine years teaching in London primary schools I decided to commit to my dream and spend more time writing. In September 2016 I published Vlad and the Great Fire of London, a picture book story, narrated by a flea and illustrated by my artist son, Sam. Now I go into schools and libraries, dressed in a kirtle, sharing Vlad’s story. Many of the images are included in teaching materials which I share to support the topic of the Great Fire of London.

This autumn we are publishing the second book in the Flea in History series, Vlad and World War One.

In between Vlad-activities I read, and share ideas around reading with children, particularly anything around encouraging reading for pleasure and building links with libraries.
