When should you start reading with your child? Now!
It is never too early, or too late, to start reading with your child. Different books will be targeted at certain age groups but even a picture book with words is a good way of playing and interacting with your child, even if only for a short time.
Bookstart provide books which will be given to you at different stages usually during health checks or through school. For more information about Bookstart and their book packs click here.
Check the page on finding books for ideas of where to get a supply of free or cheap books.
Finding time can be challenging but if you make it a regular routine it becomes a great habit. Remember you can read in bed, in the bath, whilst potty training or cuddled up in a quiet moment. If you have clips of you sharing a reading moment we would love to share them. You can add them to the visitor posts on the Reading riddle Facebook page or send them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
